Set in 1917 the film focuses on the life of a Russian
botanist in the days of the October Revolution. The
prototype of the protagonist was the noted Russian
naturalist Klimenty Timiryazev (1843 — 1920).
For this film, the main members of the crew and
cast received the Stalin Prize (second class): I. Heifitz,
A. Zarkhi (1941).
Grand Prix in the Film Contest at the World Fair in
Paris, France (1937).
Brass Medal at the 7th IFF in Venice, Italy (1946).
